Should You Develop A Morning Routine?

I am a self professed Podcast Junkie! If I have longer than 2 minutes of silence I will make every effort to pull up one of my long list of downloaded Podcast. I love new information, but I digress...
On a variety of my beloved Podcast I repeatedly heard the host and guest speak about developing and improving their morning routines. After the 5th or so interview I started asking evaluating what the heck I was doing every morning. My first realization was that I had absolutely no routine. I dragged out of bed every day and fumbled through the morning hoping not to forget anything and arrive at my destination on time.
I decided to read Hal Elrod's Miracle Morning (I highly recommend this book)
Honestly, I still haven't developed a set structured routine but I do have a checklist. 1. Give thanks 2. Move my body 3. Hydrate 4. Get out the door ...
I have made it standard practice to have my clothes picked out the night before, this sounds elementary but it takes all the mental work out of the following morning. I realized how much time I was wasting when I waited to choose clothes the morning of. Being on autopilot in the mornings make for a much better day for me. I feel more put together and prepared for the day, leaving my home in a good mood instead of frustrated
Try putting together a simple and well thought out morning routine and let me know how it affects your day.

Silent Killer

From my heart... Being a mental health professional I hear people talk about depression and mental illness all day everyday. I read the statistics and reports about the "system" failing individuals quite frequently, But, when tragedy hits close to home it can be a LOUD  wake-up call! It's hard for me to understand the fact that mental illness is still a taboo thing. I personally don't understand why it's not a more discussed topic, why there aren't enough resources and access to treatment. Here in the US we have option after option for physical healthcare. If you don't like a physician for whatever reason all you have to do is walk across the hall or drive across the street and there are at least 10 more for the choosing. Why aren't there just as many easy options for mental healthcare treatment?  These day there is a checklist for "warning signs" for every ailment out there and I want to be sure that depression warning signs are top of mind...
